EDLR is happy to announce it's opening. Alex Monceaux, Founder & Editor in Chief, has over a decade of experience mentoring emergent writers. Alex Monceaux undergraduate degree is in English and Modern Languages. He also has a Masters of English and Modern Languages with a concentration in Composition and Rhetoric, a Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development, and is completing his doctoral work in Educational Leadership with a focus in Global Education. He began teaching primary school in 1999 and transitioned into the university setting in 2006. Since then he has taught adult students in Chile, South America, students and professors in Seoul, South Korea, first-year college students in junior colleges and technical institutes as well as graduate (Master and Doctoral level) students in American universities. Currently, he teaches writing at Lamar University in the Pathway Program and Lamar Institute of Technology.  

Over the past several years, Alex has traveled extensively, offered more than 50 workshops, presentations, and lectures internationally in more than 16 countries, as well as published articles in a variety of peer-reviewed journals and educational newsletters. He served for three years on the TexTESOL IV Board of Directors seated as Editor. During that time Alex established the Journal of Assessment and Teaching of English Language Learners (JATELL), built the Editorial Board, and managed the annual production of JATELL. Also, he directed the publication of TexTESOL IV's Fourth Estate, a quarterly practitioner/scholar journal. Both of these publications gained international acclaim and readership under his direction.
